Inbar Tanzer​

Is a dancer, performer, choreographer and accomplished teacher. She’s working within the field of contemporary dance.

As a contemporary dance artist she explores the body as a site of emotion, transformation, and connection. Her work examines the body as both material and metaphor, drawing on intuitive movement, deep listening, and emotional presence.

Rooted in diverse movement practices, Inbar creates a physical language that blends precision and abstraction, with a focus on emotional articulation and authenticity. Her performances delve into inner landscapes, shifting femininity, and human relationships, often weaving in text, sound, and music to deepen the embodied experience on stage.

Emotion is the core of her creative process—she investigates how feelings can become a physical form, exploring their texture, weight, and dynamic in space and in relation to others. Nature is a central source of inspiration, reflecting the body’s own capacity for renewal, healing, and harmony. Inbar sees movement as a natural right and a transformative force—for both performers and audience.

As a dancer she graduated the  two years trining program of the SADNA Dance Workshop in Kibbutz Ga’aton. She danced with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company under the artistic direction of choreographer Rami Be’er. As well, she danced for the Jerusalem Dance Theater Company, founded by choreographer Tamara Mialnik.
Over the years, she has collaborated with numerous choreographers, including Inbal Pinto and Itzik Galili, whose works she also teaches both in Israel and abroad. As a performer she decided to broaden her range and study acting and singing for two years in “Technique” school for acting. Later on she performed in several productions as an actor: “Tel Aviv 1960” by Marina Posner, “The reef” by Tamar Amit Joseph and “The garden Of Earthly Delights” by Stav Palti Negev.

Currently, she is performing in the work of choreographer Oryan Yohanan and is completing a B.A. in Dance and Education at Kibbutzim College. Inbar is a certified “Ilan Lev” practitioner since 2016 and works in her privet clinic located in the center of Israel

Inbar began teaching 12 years ago, when she was a young dancer with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
Over the years, she has taught a wide range of ages and styles—from professional dancers to individuals with no prior dance experience. Today, she teaches somatic improvisation classes based on a method she developed herself, drawing from her background as both a therapist and a dancer trained in a wide variety of techniques and movement forms.

Her current approach to dance is grounded in the understanding that a dance technique should serve the dancing body, and not the other way around. Inbar teaches contemporary dance classes in her own personal style, which evolves in tandem with the changes she experiences and the tools she discovers—tools that prove meaningful and enhance her physical practice.

In addition, she creates original choreographic works for various dance schools across Israel and teaches repertory by choreographer Itzik Galili.

"A solo performance exploring how centuries of female oppression and Western beauty standards have distorted femininity — reducing it to appearance, obedience, and silence. Inspired by Cubism, the choreography reflects fragmented identity and shifting perspectives through movement. At its heart is a woman unraveling under the pressure to conform- objectified, disconnected, yet fiercely longing to reclaim her authentic, untamed self. This is a personal, emotional journey toward freedom, and raw femininity — a glimpse into the private self behind the mask.


The solo was created during a residency program at Bikurey Ha’itim Arts Center and premiered in 2021 at “Habayit” Theater in Jaffa. Supported by the “AS IS” Festival of Sadnaot Habama Center, and the Professional School for Ballet. It was performed again in 2024 at “Habayit” Theater and featured in the 2025 dance festival at Kibbutzim College.

"Who are you? Who am I? What taught you to be a woman — or rather, who? Are we enemies? Sisters? What was creation’s intent? I long for the Divine Presence to dwell between us, so I may call you my neighbor." A recorded rehearsal reveals layers beyond time and space. Two strong women move between conflict and comparison, grappling for space, retreating inward, and exposing vulnerability. In peeling back layers, they revisit adolescence, sexuality, and the shifting experience of womanhood. Their dialogue paints identities and emotions etched into the female body and soul. This piece echoes a shared desire: to transform vulnerability into power, shed shame, and embrace feminine solidarity as the root of divine womanhood. The duet was created as part of a residency program at the Multidisciplinary "Sadnaot Habama״ Center and was presented at the fourth "As Is" Festival in August 2022, under the artistic direction of Yankalle Filtser.

״Join me on a walk through the valley and fields of my childhood, among flowers, trees, and stones that shaped my inner world. Here, I bloom as part of nature, merging with earth, animals, air, and water—escaping the city and the suffocating “matrix.” 1.0 is a space for reset. It helps clear the noise of material life and reconnect with the free soul I was before coming into this world, before becoming a body. It’s a place where my ever-changing self invites my inner child to play, to be held, and to breathe freely in the present moment״.

The solo was created in 2020 and premiered at “Habayit” Theater in Jaffa in 2021. Born out of the COVID-19 lockdowns, this work marks a return from the city to my childhood home in the countryside. In those familiar spaces, I revisited my past and reflected on life’s essence. The piece invites the audience into an intimate pause — a quiet moment for introspection, reconnection with the self, and a return to the simplicity of nature.

This guerrilla street performance, created and performed in June 2023 before the October 7 war, was a response to Israel’s decline of democracy. It expressed an urgent call for unity, mutual respect, and Israeli solidarity. A group of women, dressed as innocent schoolgirls or scouts, dancing to the nostalgic voice of Chava Alberstein, evoking a simpler past. Their doll-like figures slowly unraveled into symbols of powerless citizens—puppets of a disconnected regime. The piece reflects fear, abandonment, and a plea to transform chaos into awakening and action, for a new and hopeful future in Israel. The work was created as part of the "Theater for Democracy" initiative led by the National Student Association. The piece was supported by the Tel Aviv School Of Ballet, under the direction of Lee Arbel and Rose Kassel.

My personal journey as a twin is an attempt to unpack the weight of twinhood. I lay down the emotional load and unfold it into childhood memories and unforgettable moments I was fortunate to share with my twin sister. By using two identical real childhood wooden toys I reflect on my own experiences within this microcosm of twinhood, and how the realization that I am ultimately a singular being living alone in the world meets the profound experience of "togetherness." This is an autobiographical dance piece about being a twin. The piece was created and performed in "Inbal" Theater 2018.
